Fund Your Community

Ignite Afterschool seeks community reviewers for their Believe and Build Grant. You’ll earn a stipend of $260-300 and help after-school programs across Minnesota receive funding. People ages 15-24 and folks in Greater MN are especially encouraged to apply. Learn more and apply by October 24th!

 

Be Honored for Your Achievements

Latino high school seniors will be recognized for their achievements and earn scholarships from the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. To be considered, students must meet the following criteria:

• Be currently enrolled in high school and graduating in the spring of 2022
• Must have a minimum unweighted 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale or 7.5 on a 10.0 scale
• Must enroll at an accredited higher education institution in 2022-2023
• Be of Hispanic heritage (includes Spain, Brazil, Philippines)
• If selected, attendance to virtual ceremony is mandatory
• Be a U.S. permanent resident, U.S. citizen, or qualify under DACA

The deadline to apply is November 14th, 2021. Students can apply at www.HispanicHeritage.org.

Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) is searching for their next Student Representative to serve on the Board of Education! All MPS sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply. Visit the Student Engagement website for more info. Applications are due on November 10th. Learn more and apply.

Share Your Story

Black youth in St. Paul are invited to be part of Aya: An Anthology of Racial Justice, Healing and the Black Experience. Artists will submit a short unpublished, original piece (prose, poem, fiction, creative nonfiction) up to 1,000 words for inclusion within the anthology.

The topic must be related to:

  • Racial Justice and the Black Experience
  • Racial Healing and the Black Experience

Upon publication, artists will participate in public readings and other community-building activities. Submit your work before December 31, 2021, at midnight to be considered! Learn more about the opportunity here.

Join the Saint Paul Youth Commission to play a role in making Saint Paul a city that works for all of us. To take part you must live in the City of Saint Paul, be in 9th – 12th grade while serving on the commission, and commit 6-10 hours a month and be available to meet on Monday nights. Learn more & apply!

Get Funded for Your Social Justice Project

The Minnesota Alliance with Youth is providing mini-grants for social justice projects. Grants will be awarded in amounts ranging from $50- $350 to implement youth-led projects that address some of the most critical issues facing our young people. Did you miss Deadline 1? Don’t worry!
