Workplace Giving
For organizations
Supporting youth as they find their voices through debate is good for our community. A growing number of Twin Cities employers across the metro are stepping up to invest in debaters. Sponsorships of our annual Mayors Challenge event, ranging from $2,500-25,000, are recognized for their generosity in the print and online edition of the Minnesota Star Tribune. Join us on September 17, 2026 at the 2026 Mayors Challenge: The Great Healthcare Debate.
For employees
When you give through your workplace, your generosity often goes further than you might expect. Many employers match their employees’ charitable gifts dollar-for-dollar (sometimes more!), meaning your support for Twin Cities debaters can double or even triple at no additional cost to you. Workplace giving also makes supporting MNUDL effortless: contributions can be set up to reoccur automatically through payroll or a platform like Benevity, so you can sustain our students year-round with no extra effort.
Leverage Workplace Generosity
Volunteer Dollars:
Recruit a team of coworkers to volunteer with MNUDL. Many companies provide paid time off for volunteering. Some companies have grants and sponsorships exclusively designed for organizations where their employees volunteer! Fill out our interest form for more info.
Matching Gifts:
Not sure if your company provides matching gifts? Check out this useful resource from our colleagues at UMN! bit.ly/MatchingGiftsSearch
Give Through Your Workplace:
Use the Benevity platform to give to debaters. Find instructions here.
Event Sponsorship:
Your company can be recognized as a leading education supporter by sponsoring our premier event, the Mayors Challenge, a team, or an individual tournament. Learn more about our annual Mayors Challenge.
Host Your Own Company-wide Fundraiser:
From supply drives, to eating at restaurants on MNUDL partner days, to even hosting your own fundraiser debate, there are many opportunities to organize for support! Check out Microsoft’s experience with their annual debate fundraiser series.
